The Taliban’s Supreme Court announced that 15 individuals were publicly flogged in Nangarhar and Ghor provinces for charges including fleeing home, moral corruption, selling alcoholic beverages, and homosexuality.

These individuals were sentenced to 30 to 39 lashes, with punishments carried out after confirmation by the Taliban’s Supreme Court.
Compiled statistics show that over 70 people were flogged by the Taliban in November alone.

Richard Bennett, UN Special Rapporteur on Human Rights in Afghanistan, stated that 672 people have been flogged across various provinces this year.
These actions continue despite repeated calls from the United Nations and international organizations for the Taliban to end such punishment methods.

The primary courts of Saghar district in Ghor and Lalpur district in Nangarhar had initially convicted these individuals, with punishments executed after final confirmation.
