With the start of winter and snowfall in several provinces, economic hardships in Afghanistan have become even more severe.
International organizations have voiced deep concerns about the rising hunger crisis and its effects on vulnerable people.
Carl Skau, Deputy Executive Director of the World Food Programme, warned in an interview with Al Jazeera that Afghanistan faces an alarming hunger crisis.
He said food insecurity is on the rise, and children are especially suffering from severe malnutrition.
Skau added that ten million Afghans are in urgent need of food assistance, but due to budget constraints, the programme can only help two million people.
