In a gathering of over a thousand clerics supporting the Taliban in Kabul, a resolution was issued prohibiting any cross-border jihad or military activities.
The clerics stressed that no one may go against the decree of Taliban leader Hibatullah Akhundzada to fight abroad, and that the Taliban have the right to prevent such actions.
The resolution described defending the Taliban system and Afghanistan’s territory as a “duty” for all Afghans, stating that everyone must stand up against any attack or disrespect to the country.
The clerics also urged Islamic countries to base their relations on Islamic brotherhood and avoid division.
This assembly was a response to recent Pakistani airstrikes on Kabul and other provinces, which have heightened tensions between the Taliban and Pakistan and resulted in Afghan civilian casualties.
