The Afghanistan Freedom Front (AFF) has welcomed a new report by the rights group “Rawadari” highlighting the plight of Ismaili Shias under Taliban rule.
In a statement, the AFF declared that the report exposes systematic discrimination, administrative exclusion, and religious suppression targeting this minority group. They asserted that these actions effectively amount to crimes against humanity.
The statement details how Ismailis are being forced to hide their religious identity and are subjected to forced conversions and imposed religious education for their children.
The AFF warned that the promotion of hate speech and extremist rhetoric by Taliban-affiliated individuals has severely compromised the safety and dignity of the Ismaili community in Afghanistan.
Calling on the UN Human Rights Council and the international community, the AFF urged immediate action to halt these violations, stating that silence equates to complicity.
The Rawadari report, released earlier this week, confirmed that since the Taliban’s return to power, the Ismaili community has faced organized harassment and severe restrictions on their freedom of belief.
