The Panjshir Women’s Movement has strongly condemned the killing of General Ekramuddin Saree and Mohammad Amin Almas, two former Afghan military officers, in Iran.

In a statement released on December 26, the group described the incident as part of an organized campaign of targeted assassinations against anti-Taliban figures abroad.

Intelligence sources have alleged that the Taliban’s Unit 091 was directly involved in the operation in Tehran.

The movement called on neighboring countries, particularly Iran, to fulfill their legal and moral obligations to protect Afghan refugees.

They warned that failing to address these targeted killings puts the lives of thousands of former security personnel and civil activists at risk and undermines international human rights protections.

Furthermore, the group urged the United Nations to launch an immediate investigation and establish protective measures for vulnerable Afghans in the diaspora.

This plea follows confirmed reports of the deaths of the former police commanders from Takhar and Kapisa provinces in the Iranian capital.
