The Taliban Ministry of Refugees has announced the release of 345 Afghan migrants who spent one to two months in Pakistani prisons.
These individuals entered Afghanistan through the Spin Boldak crossing and were transferred to their respective regions after registration and receiving initial assistance.
Pakistani police frequently detain Afghan migrants on a large scale due to a lack of legal documentation, a trend that has intensified with rising tensions between Kabul and Islamabad.
Human rights organizations have repeatedly called for an end to the detention of Afghan women and children, raising concerns among refugee advocacy groups.
Previously, the Taliban had also reported the release of hundreds of Afghan citizens from various prisons in Pakistan and Iraq.
The situation of migrants in Pakistan remains a serious concern as authorities have increased restrictions on them following diplomatic strains.
