Controversy has erupted around Shah Rukh Khan after Hindu Mahasabha leader Meera Rathore offered a ₹1 lakh reward to anyone who cuts off the actor’s tongue.
The threat stems from SRK’s IPL team, Kolkata Knight Riders, acquiring Bangladeshi player Mustafizur Rahman.
Rathore and other political figures are outraged, citing recent violence against Hindus in Bangladesh.
They argue that buying a Bangladeshi player is insensitive to the plight of minorities in the neighboring country and have demanded his removal from the team.
While the auction took place before the latest escalation of violence in December 2025, the political backlash is severe.
Rathore went as far as symbolically hitting SRK’s photo with shoes, fueling a tense atmosphere around the upcoming cricket season.
