Turkey has reportedly ceased its mediation attempts to resolve the escalating tensions between the Taliban and Pakistan, according to CNN-News18.
Diplomatic sources state that Ankara informed Islamabad that the Taliban are unwilling to accept Pakistan’s demands.
President Erdogan had announced two months ago that a Turkish delegation would visit Pakistan to facilitate talks.
However, the visit never materialized as diplomatic channels failed to bridge the gap.
Relations between the two neighbors remain strained over security issues, particularly regarding the Tehrik-i-Taliban Pakistan (TTP). Pakistan accuses Kabul of harboring militants, a charge the Taliban consistently deny.
