The Afghanistan Freedom Front has claimed responsibility for a targeted guerrilla attack in Taloqan, the capital of Takhar province, inflicting casualties on Taliban forces. According to the group’s statement, the incident occurred on Wednesday evening on University Road in the Sixth Police District.
During the operation, described by the Front as a “lightning strike,” two members of the Taliban group were reportedly killed and two others wounded. The statement also claimed that a vehicle belonging to the group was destroyed during the ambush.
Local Taliban officials have not yet commented on these specific claims. The recent increase in attacks by opposition fronts in the northern provinces highlights ongoing security challenges in the region.
