The New York Times has reported that Donald Trump's administration is negotiating a highly controversial plan regarding stranded Afghan refugees. The proposal involves relocating America's wartime Afghan allies from a military camp in Qatar to the Republic of Congo.

Advocacy organizations state that roughly 1,100 Afghan allies, including former military interpreters, special commandos, and their families, are currently living in the Qatari camp. Among these vulnerable refugees are over four hundred young children facing completely uncertain futures.

Previously, the US administration had controversially offered these refugees cash incentives to voluntarily return to Afghanistan. Human rights defenders fiercely condemn these extreme measures, calling them a historic betrayal of the Afghans who faithfully served the US military.
