Maria Zakharova, a spokesperson for the Russian Foreign Ministry, emphasized that foreign governments must take these security warnings with the utmost seriousness. She stated that the advisory was issued in response to alleged threats from Ukraine concerning potential attacks on Moscow during the historic World War II commemorative events.
The Russian Defense Ministry further warned that any attempt to disrupt the celebrations could provoke military responses targeting decision-making centers in Kyiv. Although Moscow proposed a temporary ceasefire for May 8 and 9, Ukrainian officials have not yet officially responded to the statements or the evacuation warnings.
