The Ministry of Defense of the Taliban government has announced that it conducted airstrikes targeting ISIS strongholds in the Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces of Pakistan. The ministry claims these centers were being used to plan and launch attacks against Afghanistan.

According to the released statement, the military operations struck areas including Gulistan in Balochistan and Qambar Khel in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa. Taliban government officials assert that key leaders of the ISIS Khorasan branch were eliminated during these targeted bombings, significantly weakening the group's operational capabilities.

While regional countries and the United Nations have frequently expressed concerns about the presence of ISIS in Afghanistan, the Taliban government continuously argues that the group's main bases are located on Pakistani soil. Pakistan has not yet commented on these recent airstrikes.
