Panjshiri, known as "Hasib Quwai Markaz," was killed on Thursday, August 19, during clashes with Taliban forces in the Northern Salang. After his death, a video circulated on social media showing a Taliban fighter dragging his body by the hair.
The footage sparked widespread condemnation. The National Resistance Front called on the United Nations to investigate the desecration of the commander's body. The International Committee of the Red Cross had also previously attempted to retrieve the body.
