The Taliban embassy in Islamabad said it has raised the issue of Afghan shopkeepers' assets being auctioned in Chakwal district of Punjab province with Pakistani authorities. An embassy delegation visited Chakwal to assess the situation.
The Taliban embassy said it held talks with local officials to find a legal solution to protect the rights and property of these Afghan traders. Local Pakistani officials promised cooperation.
The expulsion of Afghan migrants from Pakistan has continued for three years, and in some areas migrants have been forced to auction their assets.
