Rahmatullah Andar, the former spokesman for the National Security Council under the previous republic, has fully endorsed a proposal by republicans to convene a Loya Jirga (grand assembly) to resolve the ongoing crisis in Afghanistan.

In recent remarks, Mr. Andar stated that according to the Taliban's policy, they consider their opponents to be enemies and do not believe in any form of political or civil opposition.

According to him, the Taliban have banned political and civil activities, declared any opponent as "wajib-ul-qatl" (deserving of death), and believe that in the face of Sharia law, jirgas and negotiations are meaningless.

Andar added that in the current situation, every Afghan is obligated to swear allegiance to the "Sharia system and the Emir's decree" and fully support it. This viewpoint severely restricts any space for dialogue.

He emphasized that if the Taliban reject this Loya Jirga proposal, it would demonstrate that all members of the group are satisfied with the current situation, viewing it as an "ideal Islamic system."

In that case, Andar believes, one must abandon the "wishful thinking" that some Taliban leaders disagree with the current state of affairs. He asserts that all Taliban members follow their leaders' orders without question.

He concluded that if the proposal is rejected, the full responsibility for any dire future circumstances will lie with the Taliban.
