Eid Wali Halimi, head of Hajj and Religious Endowments for the Taliban group in Paktika, called for revenge against Pakistan during the burial ceremony of those killed in last night’s airstrikes by Pakistani forces on Argon district.
This demand comes as Pakistani airstrikes on Paktika province have left dozens killed and wounded.
Hospital sources in eastern Afghanistan say that at least 10 people were killed in Pakistan’s airstrike on Paktika province.
An official from Afghanistan’s cricket board said that many of those killed on Friday evening in Paktika province were local cricket players who were having dinner.
Zabihullah Mujahid, spokesman for the Taliban group, announced that the number of casualties from Pakistani army airstrikes on Paktika has increased to 46 deaths.
The Taliban group’s Ministry of Defense said that most of the victims were refugees from Pakistan’s Waziristan region.
These attacks took place in a mountainous area in Paktika province that borders Pakistan, and Enayatullah Khawarizmi, spokesman for the Taliban group’s Ministry of Defense in Kabul, said that several children and other civilians were martyred and wounded.
