Fawzia Koofi, Afghan politician and women’s rights activist, responded to the removal of Uzbek language from Jowzjan University’s signboard, stating that eliminating language, culture, religion and social diversity of a society has only one meaning: fear of its expansion and dynamism.

She raised this issue on Thursday, November 12, through a message on X network.

According to Koofi, the Taliban group operates with the mindset that either you must speak, think and even dress like them, or you have no right to exist at all.

She added that not only was Uzbek language removed from this signboard, but Persian language was also eliminated.

This women’s rights activist emphasized that millions of people go to bed hungry, Afghanistan is left without a constitution, and eighteen million women practically live under house arrest, yet the Taliban group’s priority is removing indigenous languages from university signboards.
