Moldovan Prime Minister Vasile Tofan declared that issuing entry permits to a Taliban Ministry of Agriculture delegation was a political "mistake." She emphasized that Moldova does not recognize the Taliban government.

The PM said the delegation had traveled to Chisinau at the invitation of a private Moldovan company exploring agricultural exports to Afghanistan. Since delegation members were not on international sanctions lists, they received visas through standard administrative procedures, but without sufficient political and diplomatic assessment.

Moldova announced that following this incident, the vetting process for similar requests will be strengthened, with the country's intelligence and security service now involved in evaluating such cases.
