Former Afghan President Hamid Karzai has strongly condemned Pakistan's recent airstrikes on Kunar and Helmand provinces. He called the action an aggression against Afghanistan's territory and a clear violation of its national sovereignty, urging Islamabad to engage with Afghanistan based on principles of good neighborliness and civilized relations instead of pursuing hostile policies.

In a message posted on his social media pages, Mr. Karzai expressed deep sympathy with the families of the victims of the Pakistani army's attacks and condemned the incident in the strongest terms. He emphasized that such actions only lead to increased tension and mistrust between the two neighboring countries and are not a solution to existing problems.

In his message to Pakistan's leaders, the former Afghan president said that instead of "scapegoating, killing Afghan women and children, and pursuing aggressive policies," they should reconsider their hostile plans. He called on Pakistan to look for the roots of the problems within itself and refrain from blaming others.

This reaction comes as the Taliban government has confirmed that 9 civilians, including women and children, were killed and 11 others were injured in the Pakistani airstrikes on residential areas. Mr. Karzai, referring to these casualties, called them shocking and unacceptable.

The Pakistani strikes, which Islamabad claims were carried out against terrorist sanctuaries, have faced a widespread wave of condemnation within Afghanistan. Many political figures and citizens of the country see these attacks as a sign of Pakistan's dual policy towards Afghanistan.

Hamid Karzai has consistently emphasized the need for friendly and mutually respectful relations with Pakistan. He believes that stability and security in Afghanistan and Pakistan are intertwined, and only through sincere cooperation can common challenges, including terrorism, be overcome.
