Behsa Karimi, a six-year-old girl from Afghanistan, has successfully enrolled in first grade at a public school in Kerala state, India.
The child, who originally comes from Herat, one of Afghanistan’s major cities, has won everyone’s hearts. According to media reports, the school principal arranged a special welcome program for Behsa Karimi, which was attended by the local council president and officials who expressed their happiness to participate in such a ceremony.
On her first day of school, Behsa was very happy to receive her books, clothes, and school bag. She quickly adapted to the school’s energetic environment and the friendship of her new classmates.
This school, which is about a century old, warmly welcomed Behsa and accepted her as their own child.
Behsa is the daughter of Mohammad Fahim Karimi (a research student in management at MG University) and Elaha Zahir. The Karimi family came to India in 2021 for Fahim’s higher education and currently reside near the Talakum/Gandhi Nagar residential colony.
The family greatly appreciates the warm and welcoming attitude of the people of Kerala and hopes that Behsa will have a bright future in this friendly educational environment.
