In a post on X, Saleh wrote that "freedom from current conditions and breaking the yoke of the internal foreigner is as important as independence from an external force." He also praised former President Hamid Karzai's message, which emphasized lasting peace, national unity, and education for girls.
Saleh called the Taliban "internal foreigners" and said they have destroyed Afghanistan's material and moral assets. He interpreted Karzai's silence on the Taliban's so-called victory anniversary as a sign of non-endorsement.
